Presenting our final two keynote speakers

We are pleased to present our final two Keynote Speakers at this year's international Gentle Teaching conference in Aalborg - Marie Louise Stochholm and Michael Lavis.

Marie Louise Stoccholm

Marie Louise holds an MSc in Social Science and Psychology specializing in pedagogical professionalism. She is co-owner of the consulting firm Sopra Konsulenterne, which since 2008 has provided consultancy, development of skills and supervision in the specialized field.

Marie Louise is a co-developer of the LA2u method and will give a practical introduction to this method.  LA2u is a method that originates from a recovery-orientated mindset and is also based on elements from the Low Arousal approach.

The aim is a strong collaboration that systematically investigates what the resident perceives as crucial for his/her well-being and what is perceived as helpful in relation to the support provided.

Michael Lavis

Michael is the founding CEO of Creative Options Regina (COR) — a for-impact, charitable organization that develops personalized support services for people experiencing disability in Regina, Canada.

His presentation will focus on "Deepening Our Understanding of Gentle Teaching with Intention" through three levels that invite a deeper relationship with those we support and with ourselves as caregivers.

Level 1: Introduces the four pillars of Gentle Teaching and the tools we use to express that.
Level 2: Challenges us to reflect, think critically, and apply the principles in practice.
Level 3: Consists of focused modules that explore complex areas such as the impact of language, trauma, and how to build thoughtful structures.

We are incredibly excited to experience the many interesting presentations and we hope you are too!

We look forward to presenting the full conference program in the beginning of May. Stay tuned.
