AAL has direct connections to a large number of international destinations, including:
Copenhagen
Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is linked with Aalborg Airport by 14 daily flights. Copenhagen is the main air traffic hub of Northern Europe and served by some 70 international airlines flying non-stop from 120 cities around the world. Flight time CPH-AAL is just 35 minutes.
Amsterdam
A direct route operated by KLM has daily connections between AAL and Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, one of the world´s busiest airports with more than 200 destinations worldwide. Flight time between Amsterdam and Aalborg is only 65 minutes.
Oslo
Gardermoen Airport, situated some 35 km north of Oslo, is an important international traffic hub. It acts as the gateway to the Nordic countries. Flight time to AAL approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
AAL is also directly connected to Greenland, The Faroe Islands, Reykjavik, London, Belfast, Edinburgh and many more international destinations.
Once you’ve arrived at AAL, you only have a short 6 km trip to the city center. Hop on the train taking you downtown in minutes

The 20-minute City
If you’re tired of queuing for ages to get your luggage and walking miles just to leave the gate, start looking forward to arriving at Aalborg Airport (AAL). There’s something to be said for not being the biggest airport in the world, and efficiency is one of them. People arriving from abroad are often astonished by how quickly they can get from the plane to their suitcase and straight to the hotel.
The airport is conveniently located just outside the city center and well connected with a direct train taking you straight to the heart of Aalborg. Taxis and busses are also easy to find.
Once you’re downtown, you’ll find it manageable to walk almost anywhere. In fact, we’re known as the “20-minute city”, because it’s that quick to get from one end to the other.
Experience Aalborg’s newly opened electric “Plus Bus”, leaving each stop every 7.5 minutes and connecting the city from west to east.
CATCH A BOAT
If you are coming from Norway or Sweden and prefer not to fly, Aalborg is easily accessible with the Stena Line ferries to Frederikshavn or Color Line ferries via Hirtshals.
CATCH A TRAIN
If you’re joining us from somewhere else in Denmark or from one of our neighboring countries, the train is a comfortable choice, taking you directly to the hotel.
